Fair Healthcare Coverage For All

Healthcare in this great country is a big complete mess, and that's the cold bitter truth. With a Republican President in office, HMOs seem like the only real option and people are getting robbed of their money having to pay thousands among thousands of dollars for Health Insurance coverage and their much-needed medications. HMOs or The Health Maintenance Organization Act, is a U.S. federal law that was enacted under President Richard Nixon in December of 1973. So basically if you have what they like to call, preexisting conditions, or neurological problems, psychiatrical health issues, or physical disabilities, you cannot be helped; you have to pay it all out of pocket, and even better, the insurance companies like Farmers or Allstate get to sit on a mountain of cash while charging excessive fees for pretty much any excuse they deem necessary. What people need to know, is that Obamacare is not a socialist policy, its clearly a Civil Rights issue because every so often disabled and poor Americans are the ones who are getting discriminated against. Again and again our government continues to represent the fundamental values of only the 3% richest and healthiest Americans who do not know what its like to be denied health care while the sickly and less financially stable American families fall prey. The HMO seems to be a growing concern since the early 1970s when it was created, but has only been brought to light when Michael Moore's movie, Sicko, surfaced in 2007. Even Americans who have life-threatening illnesses who come from the bottom of society cannot afford to pay for: doctors visits, chemotherapy, MRI scans, surgery for malignant tumors, life support ventilators, and a lot of other serious medical issues. So enough with the excuses; paying a little out of pocket to go to Obamacare might actually save a life. You have to understand that people need a system that can offer free and fair healthcare that grants equal rights and freedoms for all its citizens. Its sad to see how there is so many uneducated and unaware voters who feel differently about the bill when really voting FOR the free health care act is doing something for the greater good. Although House Democrats and Right-wing conservatives have not reached an agreement on the Affordable Healthcare Act, America has a lot of work that needs to be accomplished. With a rise in gun violence, lack of education, discrimination against the seriously ill, we have become a wealthy and prosperous country, but not a potentially modernized, socially equal country that advocates for its peoples' rights. We have a lot more to accomplish, but I believe with the right President in office, we can focus on more important issues and spend less time on the ones that divide us as a nation.
